This paper starts from discussing the meaning of function in modern design aesthetics, then reviews the ancient Chinese design style, based on which, the writer attempts to find out the cultural origins in ancient Chinese design. Meanwhile, this paper also makes a preliminary study on the importance of the non-visual function in design.
