从概念隐喻看英汉动物词语的文化异同

A Glimpse of Cultural Similarities and Differences of English and Chinese Animal Words from the Perspective of Conceptual Metaphor

概念隐喻是一般隐喻的概括和总结,它反映人类的认知和思维。英汉两种语言中均存在大量的有关动物的概念隐喻,它们都有其特定的文化喻意。本文从概念隐喻入手,通过对英汉语言中动物词语的对比和分析,阐述了两种文化在思维方式、价值观等方面的异同。

Conceptual metaphor is based on everyday metaphors with generality, systematicality and productivity as its main characteristics. It can reflect human beings＂ cognition and thinking. There are a lot of animal words in English and Chinese, which have gained their own cultural connotations. By comparing and analyzing English and Chinese animal words from the perspective of conceptual metaphors , this paper probes into the cultural similarities and differences of the two languages in terms of thinking models, value and so on.
