Investigation and Thoughts on Present Situation of Minorities Periodicals in Xinjiang

新疆少数民族期刊业改革开放以来虽然有较大发展,但在办刊观念、体制和经营方式上亟待转型,以适应市场经济和信息时代的要求。少数民族期刊业要从单纯依靠财政拨款和邮政发行的粗放经营的发展模式下解放出来,剪断期刊与其行政主管单位的“脐带”,从明确刊物的市场定位着手,转换经营机制,重视广告和市场营销,实现产业化发展,以期更好地服务少数民族读者,传播民族文化,推动少数民族科学文化事业的发展。

Although there has been great development in the minorities＇ periodicals in Xinjiang since the Reform and Opening. Urgent transitions are called up in the ideas, systems and the way to manage the periodicals in order to meet the needs of market - economy and information age. The minorities＇ periodicals need to flee themselves from the extensive operation of purely depending on the financial appropriation and postal publishment. They also need to make clear their own market location and change the way of growth in economic returns. Thus, they can provide readers of better service and spread minority＇s culture. Furthermore, they can promote the development of minorities＇ ,science and culture in Xinjiang.
