The work illustrates Hemingway＇ s thoughts from the following aspects; war and disaster. The war is a disaster, a slaughter. Henry thoroughly understood war, to escape from the troops. Hemingway thought that the person＇s destiny similar to the ants that flee for life in the fire. He expressed the special understanding to the war. The work clearly reilected the influence of the war upon the human nature and a peaceful desire. This paper explores the forming process of Hemingway＇ s viewpoint and the influence of the realistic world.
