作为处在相似社会环境,两个不同年龄的代表,少年霍尔顿与中年人巴比特,却在他们叛逆的道路上有着诸多的相似之处。他们都渴望真正的交流,做真正的自己,最后却都因为自身的局限和现实社会的压力,而最终双双选择妥协。

Though they are representatives of different ages, Holden and Babbitt have lots of similarities in a similar social background. They both have a strong sense of real communication and independence, but they both choose to resign under the pressure of the social reality as well as the limitations of themselves.
