性别歧视渗透在包括语言在内的社会生活各个方面,在英汉谚语中共同存在的歧视女性现象,从社会语言学的角度探讨这种现象产生的原因,对性别歧视在英汉谚语中的发展趋势不无裨益。

Sexism penetrates all aspects of social life, including languages. The present article analyzes such a phenomenon in both English and Chinese proverbs, attempts to probes into the causes of sexism from the sociolinguistic perspective, and then discusses the trend of sexism in the English and Chinese proverbs.
