The basic condition of the Great Lakes which is located in the boundary between America and Canada was introduced. The Great Lakes is the biggest fresh water body in the world. The water environmental pollution and treatment course for the Great Lakes are narrated, and the cooperative experience of two countries on water environmental protection is discussed. In the end, the obtained achievement on environmental protection work is summarized. Proved by experiment, the water resources management system and water environmental protection strategy are effective. By making great efforts in recent decades, the water quality status of the Great Lakes has been improved obviously, and rapid advancement has been taken out in the health assurance of people, eutrophication treatment and toxicant abatement.
