To discuss the current situation of propylene and ethylene production process from coal gasification at home and abroad. The large coal gasification MTO and MTP industry will have great development and potential market in China. The total output of carbinol is about 5.35 miUion tons, with import 1.30 miUion tons in China in 2005. It,s forecasted that the total consump- tion of carbinol reach about 9 miUion tons in China in 2007, with the total production capacity of carbinol would reach about 43 miUion tons in ＂XI-Five＂duration in China,the develop quickly of carbinol should be increased so as to expand the source of raw materials producing low olefins（ethylene and propy- lene）. The technique producing lower olefins by carbinol was a new and advanced technique and maybe become a predominant technique in future.
