Following the second cognitive revolution, there has been a general belief that psychological phenomena such as cognition and thinking are nothing more than the use of human language, and that the process of cognition exists in social interaction rather than in individuals. The idea of ＂social partnership＂ described herein puts stress on human-computer interaction for the design of any MT system. Both in-depth study of automatic text processing techniques over perspective corpora checked by human experience and the analysis of the mechanism of the new MT system designed by the ＇＂ Statistics of Speech＂ Research Group show that the enhancement of system coordination will be a priority for the development of upcoming MT systems.
