Cathay Pacific, founded in 1946, is a carrier operating international and regional services and linking 48 destinations inthe world. The carrier has continued to gain better perfomance in operating profil year after year even if balance sheets of theindustry werederastatedbetween 1990-1994. Swire Group and CITIC own Controlling stake of 43.9% and 25% respec-tirely in Cathay Pacific. It has emplyees total of 15000, and is equipped with a fleet of 60 wide-body aircraft. In 1996 thecarrier completedpassenger borading of 11 million and cargo trafficof 568000 tonners with profil attributed to shareholdersof HK$3.8 billion. Since 1990s Cathay Pacific has been in restructure tolower costs and increase yield.Its majorinrestment in the future will put on Chek Lap Kok Airport to build a head office and a hotel with HK$8 billion.Besides the carrier will spend HK$24 billion on upgrading fleet.
