香港飞机工程有限公司(HAECO)的发展历史可以追溯到1950年,由当时香港两家飞机维修公司,即渣甸航空保养公司和太平洋飞机维修公司合并而成。当时公司员工仅450人,年营业额不过762万港元。经过40多年的发展,公司员工已发展到5400多人,1995年营业额已达24亿港元,其业务也超越香港本土覆盖到全球各个区域,并成为一家信誉与服务上佳的世界先进的飞机维修公司。
HAECO with more than 40 years history is a huge maintenance enterprise based in Hong Kong and its business has expanded into all over the world. In 1995 its earning reached HK$ 2. 4 billion. To meet the demand for growing business its heavy checks and labor-intensive work have already been transferred from Kai Tak to Xiamen Taikoo Aircraft Engineering Co. and its engine overhaul and repair operation has been spun off into Hong Kong Aero Engine Services Ltd. a new 50: 50 partnership with Rolles-Royce. HAECO is investing about HK$ 1. 3 billion in a new three-bay widebody hangar at Chek Lap Kok Airport. In addition to its two biggest customers, HAECO is seeking long-term contracts with other airlines and has succeeded in lining up China Southern and Xiamen Airlines.
