贝尔/波音609是美国贝尔/波音公司倾转旋翼飞机研制组于去年11月发起的世界上第一种6～9座的小型民用倾转旋翼飞机计划。它是该研制组基于发展V-22军用倾转旋翼飞机成功的设计经验,并在美国大力推行军民两用技术政策的新形势下,应运而生的一种全新的民用飞机种类。它的问世仅仅是倾转旋翼飞机打入世界民用飞机市场的一个开端。随着倾转旋翼飞机技术的日趋成熟。

Bell / Boeing' s first civil tiltrotor--Bell / Boeing 609, which was developed jointly by Bell Helicopter Textron and Boeing Company and launched in the end of last year, is a small, highly flexible, six-to- nine passengers tiltrotor designed primarily for executive transportation, natural resource exploration, emergency medical evacuation, governmental support roles and disaster relief. It will provide two times speed and range as much as conventional rotorcraft and will make its passengers more comfortable and provide higher operating cost effectiveness.
