Applied cognitive psychology was introduced between the late 1970＇s and the early 1980＇s as a newly- emerging science, aiming to explore human cognitive mechanism in the scene of realistic life. The nearly - 30 - year course of development has demonstrated that applied cognitive psychology has advanced far beyond theoretical debates based on lab and ecological studies in the early day and taken it as its dominant objective to actively explore existing cognitive problems in practical life with tolerating attitudes and by the strategy of using different approaches alternatively. Therefore applied cognitive psychology bridges the gap between traditional lab study and reality of life, making cognitive study more representative of and more general to realistic life.
