This paper seeks to analyze Maggie＇s sentiments between her and her brother, and her love between the other two men, disclosing such morality as obedience, responsibility, and self-depressing, and the social ideology and the structures of sentiments in the light of Raymond Williams＇ theory, thus looking into George Eliot＇ s own morality and the social reality in Victorian Period.
