Elementary Argumentum on People’s Names and Division of Age in Dunhuang Manuscripts

数万卷的敦煌写本,保存有丰富的人名资源,利用这些人名在不同写本中的重复出现,可以对一些敦煌写本进行断代。本文以具体例证对这一方法的具体使用方式进行了探讨,同时也指出了它的局限性。

Among the thousands of Dunhuang Manuscripts, there were abundant resources of people’s names has been preserved. From there, We could find the writing evidence for division of age of Dunhuang Manuscripts by using the repeated appearance of these people’s names in Dunhuang Manuscripts. This article tries to exploring the exact usage of this textual research method with some precise examples. At the same time, this article has also pointed out that the limitation of this method applying to the study of Dunhuang Manuscripts.
