Since the 1990' sa, the major English countries( such as U.S. Britain, Canada, Australia) in the developed world have outdone the non-English countries ( such as Japan, Germany, France and Italy) in terms of economic growth rate, per capita GDP growth, unemployment rate, and labor production efficiency. The main reason that can account for such disparity are as follows: The non-English countries, due to some error in the macro economic policy have missed the opportunity to develop their new economy, failed to transform their industry in time as a result of the influence of the powerful interest groups, thus resulting in slow economic growth. The English countries, on the other hand, actively implemented the economic reform and adjust the industrial structure in time and attached great importance to technological innovation and improving labor efficiency while maximizing the advantage of English as a global language, and consequently succeeded in accelerating the economic development. The gap in the economic growth rate between them can serve as an enlightenment to the other countries.
