Discussing the Apoplexy of Zhangxichun's Chinese Medical Science Compromised Medical Science

张锡纯对中风症的见解,可分为内中风(类中风)与外中风之别。外中风治以补血搜风,逐邪外出之法;内中风中分为脑充血,治以镇肝熄风,育阴潜阳;脑贫血治以滋补气血,峻补宗气;若脑贫血痿废,治以补气养血,通经活络。

Zhangxichun thought that the apoplexy should be divided inner apoplexy and out apoplexy. The out apoplexy should be treated with the nourishing the blood and removing the wind. The inner apoplexy could be divided encephalemia and cerebral anaemia. The encephalemia should be treated with the calming the liver to stopping endogenous wind and brooding yin to calming yang and the cerebral anaemia should be treated with the invigoration qi and blood. If the cerebral anaemia was paralysis, it should be treated with the invigorating vital energy and providing blood and dredging the meridian passage.
