lntegrin is an important adhesion molecule that mediates cell-cell and cell-extracellar matrix adhesion and participates in the adhesion and migration of lens epithelial cells. This review summarizes the expression and function of integrin in lens epithelial cells and, from these studies, we have a better understanding of the development of the lens, the formation of cataracts and posterior capsule opacification.
