以政治合法性理论为理论工具对"三个代表"重要思想加以解读,可以得出如下结论:"始终代表中国先进生产力的发展要求",既是从执政绩效角度对党的政治合法性的自觉认识,又体现了对于加强党的阶级基础先进性建设的自觉认识;"始终代表中国先进文化的前进方向",是从掌握意识形态领导权的角度对党的政治合法性提出的自觉要求,加强马克思主义中国化建设应成为代表中国先进文化前进方向的基础工作;"始终代表中国最广大人民的根本利益",强调党与人民利益的一致性,拓展了"人民"所涵盖的范围,奠定了党的政治合法性的群众基础。
