Due to cultural differences, politeness principle may vary in Chinese and English culture. Since the five principles from Gu -Yue- guo （1994） is widely adopted on behalf of Chinese politeness principle, and the six principles from Leech （ 1983 ） on be half of English politeness principle, the contrast focuses on the theories of the two linguists.
