The understanding of human nature and behaviors is distorted by two ideas——evolutionary theory and economic models. Evolutionary experts explain human needs by genes, economists demonstrate how human choose acts to satisfy their need according to the rational utility principle. Philosopher John Dupre holds that the explanations do not work and have dangerous consequences. He views that we should understand human nature and behaviors from pluralistic perspectives, human beings are the subjects having autonomy and free will in indeterministic world.
