摘要
文章通过对《红楼梦》两部英译本A Dream of Red Mansions和The Story of the Stone中称谓翻译的研究,探讨并说明《红楼梦》的两位译者之所以在称谓上采用不同的译法不仅仅因为两位译者不同的文化身份,而且还与译文的翻译目的、预期读者以及翻译环境有关。
In this paper, we will make a research on appellation of two versions ： a Dream of Red Mansions ＆ The Story of the Stone . Through careful analysis and ample evidences, we can reach a conclusion that discrepancies in translating appellation result not only in different cultural identities, but also in target, the intended text receiver and translation situation.
