Hetu & Luoshu, the original implication of which was the sketches of a map on the dragon's back coming into being from the Yellow River and paintings provided by the turtle from Luohe, were the symbolic materials for Yoyi de-signing the Eight Diagrams and Xia Yu's “Nine Strategies to Turtle the Country”, instead of the forged books based on the white-and-black dots and heresies suggested by reference materials in the Northern Song Dynasty. Yoyi was a tribe emblem of totem which was the supreme representative and symbol of clan chieftain for the endless evolutional age starting from fishing-hunting era to cultivation era. Combined with the “dragon” found in the archaeological world, it can be fully proved that “Hetu” is the dragon totem and that Hetu and Luoshu are both worshiped by the Chinese na-tion. The birth of the Eight Diagrams was the result of our ancestors' long time perception and observation. From the archaeololgical findings, the Eight Diagrams can be dated back to 7000 to 8000 years ago, and the Eight Diagrams real-ly possesses the function and value of “the creation of the world”.
