Varied Election of Political Parties——A Case study of the 2^(nd) Congressional Election of Min Guo

议会是政党发挥作用的主要场所和必争之地。在民国时期的第二届国会选举中,政党竞选完全异化成朋党之争,各派系为了集团利益,不择手段,抛弃选举的民主、公正精神。贿选之严重,违法舞弊之普遍,司法救济之苍白,前所未有。代议制、政党政治、选举制度等,这些现代西方民主制度的骨架再一次被扭曲,由此也进一步动摇和削弱了国人对现代西方民主制度本已脆弱的信心。这对其后北洋时期及南京国民政府时期的政治发展均产生了深远的影响。

Parliament is the main place that political parties play their roles and grab. In the 2nd congressional election of the period of Min Guo, the election of political parties totally varied to the struggle between party groups. Kinds of party groups resorted to all kinds of means for the interest of their groups and abandoned the democratic and just spirit of election. As a result, bribe election, violation of the law and fraudulent practices, and powerless judicature relief went to the serious and common extreme. The framework of the modern western democratic system （system of representation, party politics, the election system, etc） was distorted again. This situation further destroyed countrymen＇s confidence in the modern western democratic system that had been fragile and cast deep influence on the political development in the latter periods of Beiyang and Nanjing National Government.
