Marx and Ethnocentrism——A Critical Reading of Baudrillard’s The Mirror of Production

青年鲍德里亚在《生产之镜》一书中,批评马克思的历史唯物主义是西方中心主义的逻辑,因为马克思将一定历史条件下存在于欧洲的资本主义生产模式非历史地扩展到全部历史和其他文化中中去了,他甚至反对马克思关于“人体解剖是猴体解剖的钥匙”的观点。文本深入分析了鲍德里亚的上述质疑,指认了他错误地将人类社会中存在的劳动和物质生产等同于资本主义生产和经济模式,再把马克思的历史观妖魔化为简单的历史公式论,才会得出历史唯物主义等于西方中心主义和种族中心论的可笑断言。

In The Mirror of Production youth Baudrillard criticizes that Marxian historical materialism is the logic of western centrism because Marx has made an unhistorical expansion from the capitalist mode of production, which exists in Europe under certain historical conditions, to the whole history and all the other cultures. He even objects to Marxian idea that ＂The dissection of a human body is the key to that of a monkey body＂. This paper makes a deep analysis of Baudrillard＇s questioning above and points out that he mistakenly identifies the production of labor and materials in human society, with the mode of capitalist production and economy and that then enchants Marxian idea of history as a simple historical formula, resulting in the ridiculous statement of identifying historical materialism with Western centrism and ethnocentrism.
