弗朗西斯卡·萨尔托戈（Francesca Sartogo,以下简称FS）：赫尔佐格教授,众所周知,环境危机影响着我们赖以生存的星球上的气候结构,它改变了我们所在的生态系统,并为之带来了永久性的伤害。于是,处理与环境危机相关的问题成为了本世纪面临的巨大挑战。在京都召开的会议和与此课题相关的广泛讨论显示出,我们的研究不应仅限于科学和政治领域,它更迫切地需要来自各种层面的交流。能源水泵问题尤为重要。

FS： Prof. Herzog, we know that some of this century＇s great challenges surely involve issues related to the handling of the ecological crisis, which globally affects the climatic structure of our planet and causes changes as well as irreversible damages to our ecological system. The conference in Kyoto and the various debates about this topic showed the urgent need for quick intervention on all levels, which cannot only take place in the fields of science and politics. The role of energy consumption has gained fundamental importance. The necessity for a change towards the use of sustainable energies and mainly a diminution of the consumption and the rationalisation of energy is mandatory if we want to conserve our ecological system for future years.
