The IR and NH 3 TPD techniques were used to study the surface acidic properties of different secondary synthetic FeY samples. The results showed that the conditions of secondary synthesis affected not only the Fe state but also the surface acidic properties on FeY. It was found that the B acid sites decreased obviously while the L acid sites increased along with dealumination and Fe amount inserted into the framework of zeolite. The intensity and amount of B acid sites depended on the pH value of the medium. The sample pretreated with (NH 4) 2SiF 6 aqueous solution possessed the smallest N B/ N L and contained more Fe(Ⅲ) in the framework than untreated one. While the sample treated in HNO 3 aqueous solution had the maximum B acid sites. The reason for these results was also discussed.
