This paper presents the calculation and analysis on the gain characteristics of double side pumped Ti:sapphire laser amplifiers.Chirped pulse multipass amplification in Ti:sapphire experiments has been,for the first time in China,conducted here with 10 6 overall gain and 0.8 mJ output energy.
