A Hermeneutic Perspective on the Subjectivity of the Translator in the Subtitling Process

字幕翻译受到技术参数和文本因素的制约,需要译者充分发挥其主体性。阐释学视角下,字幕译者的主体性体现在整个字幕翻译过程中,涉及译者选择原片时的信赖,以及阐释和再创原片时的侵入、吸收和补偿。

The technical and textual constraints of subtitling require the translator to bring his/her subjectivity to full play. The subjectivity, as a hermeneutic perspective argues, is manifested in the whole subtitling process, involving the translator＇ s trust in the selection of the source film, and his/her aggression, appropriation and compensation in its interpretation and creative representation.
