(中国眼耳鼻喉科杂志,2007,7:214-216) Purpose To explore if the exogenous vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) could increase the successful rate of the formation of laser - induced chorioretinal venous anastomosis(CRVA). Methods Retinal vein occlusion(RVO) in rabbit eyes was created and the CRVA was induced by laser radiation. The rabbits then were divided into 3 test groups based on the different concentration of VEGF received and 2 control groups( sham and negative). Two weeks later, the rabbits of the test groups received different designed doses of exogenous VEGF by intravitreous injection, the rabbits of the negative control received venicle solution. Within four to five weeks, the CRVA formation was checked by fundus fluorescein angiography (FFA). Results The successful rate of CRVA formation was 31.25%, 43.75%, 43.75% in the test groups, and 31.25%, 37.50% in the control groups respectively. There was no significant difference among five groups (P 〉 0.05). Conclusion In the present study, the exogenous VEGF has no effect in promoting the laser- induced chorioretinal venous anastomosis.
