Ideological manipulation in translation practice can not be ignored. Every ideology can make an influence on selection for translation. This thesis makes a case study on a Chinese modernist poet and translator Mu Dan, his selection for translationon the contemporary Chinese social and cultural background from ideological perspective. It studies the influence made by political ideology-individual ideologyand aesthetic ideology on Mu Dan＇s selection for translation.
