斯堪尼亚公司不久前对外展示了首款没有采用SCR选择性催化还原装置而能够满足欧Ⅴ排放标准的发动机。作为EGR技术的坚定信奉者，新发动机没有采用SCR（选择性催化还原技术），而是在采用EGR（废气再循环）的基础上，再配合新型的XPI燃油共轨喷射系统，以及一个可变几何形状的涡轮增压系统来达到严格的欧Ⅴ排放标准，
Scania brings a new engine technology to fit Euro Ⅴ for its heavy-duty trucks. It is based on XPI-System —— a new Common Rail System with Cummins together developed, and a variable turbo geometry. It uses also EGR technology but not SCR.
