在闲适与哀苦之间——漫谈周作人的文风变因

Between Comfort and Bitterness——On Reasons for Changes in Zhou Zuoren’s Writing Style

纵观周作人的为人或作文,论者多以"平淡闲适"标之。然而作者本人却一再表明自己的文风与此相去甚远,并悠然自得于平淡与不平淡之间。论者与作者对所谓"闲适""平淡"的体认与标准为何产生如此之大的分歧呢?对此,本文欲通过梳理五四退潮后周作人的心路转折作出解答,藉以领略中国现代知识分子面对黑暗所采取的一种人生姿态:在忍受与自娱中,得到生存的快慰。

Based on Zhou Zuoren＇ s behaving and writing, critics attach ＂quiet and comfortable＂ to his writing style. But the author himself does not agree with it, and claims that he is strolling between ＂quiet and excitement＂. Why is there so great a difference in the concepts and criteria for ＂quietness＂ and ＂comfort＂？ The author of the present thesis attempts to supply an answer by a survey of Zhou Zuoren＇ s changes after the May 4^th Movement, and then goes on to reveal modern Chinese intellectuals＇ attitude towards life when in gloominess： to acquire comfort in life from tolerance and self- entertainment.
