胡适的媒介独立传播思想

Hu Shi's Communication Theory of Media Independence

媒介独立是胡适传播思想的核心。胡适认为大众媒介必须独立于官方机构或党派,刊发具有独立思想的言论,成为公共领域,杜绝成为利益团体的喉舌。胡适还认为,媒介独立包括新闻传播者的身份独立,新闻传播者身份独立是保证媒介的思想自由,言论公正的前提。胡适特别强调新闻传播者身份虽然独立,但不能与政府为敌,言论必须"敬慎无所苟",做政府的"诤友"。

The core of Dr Hu＇s communication theory is media independence. Dr Hu cherished the point that mass media should be independent from any government and party, so that it can express its view freely and be a public place accessible to everyone rather than representative of certain interest group. What is more, Dr Hu believed that the independence of journalist constitutes part of media independence and the prerequisite of the freedom of the press as well as the justice of speech. What Dr Hu underlined is that although journalists should be independent, they should be special friends of lhe government who respect but not fear it, more than the enemy.
