大学理念是人们对大学的本质及其办学规律的一种哲学思考体系,"文化是大学之魂"是在我国悄然兴起的大学文化问题研究思潮深入发展的过程中提出的一种崭新的大学哲学观,包括大学文化本质观、大学文化使命观、大学文化精神观和大学文化价值观。它们是一个相互联系、相辅相成和辩证统一的有机的整体,统一在"文化是大学之魂"之中。哲学既是科学的智慧又是智慧的科学,作为一种崭新的大学哲学观,"文化是大学之魂"中的"文化"是哲学意义上的文化,其核心是一种人文关怀和独立精神,这才是真正意义上的"大学之魂"。基于这种认识,作为人才养成的重要基地和人类社会的知识权威,大学应当始终把"人的发展"作为大学教育活动永恒的主题,永远坚守以"象牙塔"为象征的大学固有的独立精神,促进作为"个体"的人和作为"整体"的人类社会得到全面、协调、可持续发展,与时俱进,止于至善。

University conception is a system of thinking about the nature and running law of university.'Culture is the soul of university'is a new philosophical view of university,which appears gradually with the further study of university cultural studies in our country.It includes view of university cultural nature,view of university cultural mission,view of university cultural spirit,and view of university cultural value.They are interrelated and interact and constitute an integral whole,which is'Culture is the soul of university'.Philosophy is the wisdom of science and is also the science of wisdom.As a totally new university philosophical view,the 'culture'in 'Culture is the soul of university' is the culture in philosophical sense,with humanity concern and independence as its core.Only in this way can it be really called 'the soul of university'.Based on this,as an important base for cultivating talents and knowledge authority of human society,university should take 'human development' as the eternal topic for university educational activities.University should adhere to university's intrinsic spirit symbolized by 'ivory tower' to promote the human being as an individual and human beings as human society to have overall,coordinative,and sustainable development.Advance with times and strive for perfection.
