摘要
江西庐山秀峰龙潭摩崖上有一处元代八思巴蒙古字题刻,是元代江西行省左丞相别不花书写的"龙"字。清同治十年《星子县志》将其误作刺不花篆书"虎"字。此后100多年来,各种地方文献一直沿袭县志之说,以至谬误久传。笔者根据该题刻的文字特征及相关史籍,对沿袭的说法予以纠正厘清,并对书者别不花生平作了钩沉爬梳。
On the cliff overlooking Dragon Pond under Xiufeng in Lushan, Jiangxi, there is an inscription of ＂Dragon＂ in Basiba Mongolian, which was based on the writing of Biebuhua（别不花）, the chancellor of the Jiangxi Province in the Yuan Dynasty. However, in the ＂Xingzi Country Record＂ of Qing Dynasty, more than 500 years after the inscription was made, it was recorded that ＂the inscribed Chinese character ＇Tiger＇ was written by Yuan Chancellor Cibuhua（刺不花）＂. Since then the mistake has been repeated in various country and provincial records and other sclated writings. Here we point out these two mistakes through examining the characteristics of the inscription and historical records. We also clarify the possible reasons on why the mistake was made in the first place. Lastly, we describe in detail the life of Biebuhua（别不花）.
