Thinking and Arguing about the Sense of History

二十世纪是一个历史观极度膨胀,而历史感极度萎缩的世纪。神化历史观的结果就是使人们只知道研究历史所需要的种种观念体系,却丝毫不知道理解历史所必需的洞见视域。历史感并不是历史学本身所固有的东西。历史是历史学家的存在视域,历史感是历史学家的存在本质,史料是历史学家的存在形式。历史感的这种洞见、关注和凝视就是一种"看",而史料则是一种"说"。历史感优先于史料,所以"看"优先于"说"。

The 20th century is such a period in which the concept of history was inflated and the sense of history shrunk greatly.The result of apotheosizing the concept of history is that we just realize all kinds of systems of the concept for researching the history,but we cannot find the observing aspect which is necessary to understand history. The concept of history itself does not belong to History.History is the foundation of the historians,the concept of history is the essence on which historians stand.Historical materials is the form historians stand on.The observation, attention and fixation of the concept of history is in fact a kind of ＂looking at＂ and historical materials is a kind of ＂talking＂ .Materials is taken precedence by the concept, so ＂looking at＂ has precedence over the ＂talking＂.
