Characteristics of Producer Services Development in Guangzhou since 1949

建国以来,广州的生产性服务业发展发生了巨大的变化,生产性服务业在国民经济中的作用日益增强。根据人口普查、基本单位普查及第三产业普查资料分析,将广州生产性服务业发展划分为3个阶段,进而探讨产业在各阶段的发展特征及其形成原因。最后,依据发展的态势,对广州生产性服务业的发展趋势做出预测,并指出CE-PA的实施将为广州生产性服务业的发展带来良好的契机。

The producer services of Guangzhou have changed a lot since 1949, and their effects to the local development are becoming more and more important. According to the data from census and statistics of the basic corporate units and the tertiary industry, as well as all kinds of available books, the development of producer services in Guangzhou could be divided into three stages, namely the traditional stage （ 1949 - 1977 ）, the preparative stage of takeoff （ 1978 - 1991 ） and the takeoff stage （ since 1992 ）. The industrial characteristics were different in each phase, owing to the conditions of economic development, the policies and the demand for services. In sum, the producer services development in Guangzhou correlated closely with the local development, and its proportion in the local GDP was always higher than that in offering employment chances. The status of producer services in local development had changed from ＂some industries played important role to development of national economy＂ to ＂all industries played important role to that＂ in the past 50 years. By the conclusion of the analysis, it is forecasted that the producer services in Guangzhou will keep on well tendency to develop, and become a main driving force of urban economic development. The operation of CEPA will bring a good chance for them.
