王婆是《金瓶梅》文本中塑造的一位不可多得的人物典范,她开着茶馆,兼着媒婆和牙婆的职业,为人作媒介来谋取利益。她是集商人、媒婆、牙婆于一体的"三合一"意象。她精明能干、处事圆滑、贪婪自私、狠毒机变,为点蝇头小利,不惜出卖道德和良知,最终为此付出了生命的代价。王婆意象,不但折射了明朝中后期在商品经济熏染下,市井细民越来越关注自身实利,也反映了思想领域程朱理学的式微、新价值体系的缺失、人们信仰上的真空。

WANG Po is a rare typical character in the novel Jin,Ping,Mei. She managed a teahouse, besides, she acted as a woman matchmaker and a procurer. She served as a medium for the others in order to gain illegal benefits. So a merchant,a woman matchmaker and a procurer are concentrated on her image. WANG Po is astute and competet,slick and sly,greedy and selfish,vicious and smart. She is not scruple to betray her own morals and conscience for petty profits, and lost her life because of her behaviour at last. The image reflects that with the development of commodity economy,townpeople growingly paid close attention to their own benefits in Ming dynasty. The image also mirrors that CHENG and ZHU Theory was on the wane, new system of value was not established,and the vacuum of people＇ s belief emerged.
