Mansfield creatively employs the modernistic narrative strategies in her first new-style short story The Prelude, endowing this piece with powerful artistic charm. The strategies involved are the flexibly transformed perspectives of narrative point of view, plotless narrative structure and poetic narrative language, forming her unique style of creating short stolies.
