An Empirical Analysis of Gini Coefficient in Xinjiang

改革开放以来,随着人民生活水平的提高,居民收入差距也呈现出逐步扩大的趋势,新疆基尼系数已经超过了0.4的国际警戒线,对构建和谐新疆形成严峻挑战。在缩小居民收入差距方面,发展是解决居民收入差距的根本途径,同时,要多方着手,逐步缩小城乡居民的收入差距,实现构建和谐社会的目标。

Since China's reform and opening-up,with the improvement of people's living standard their income gap has been gradually enlarged.In Xinjiang,Gini coefficient has exceeded the international warning level of 0.4,which becomes the rigorous challenge to building a harmonious society in Xinjiang The fundamental approach to narrow income gap is to develop,meanwhile multiple measures should be taken to decrease the income gap between urban residents and rural residents step by step and to realize the target of building a harmonious society.
