在分析单位冲激函数δ（ｔ），单位跃函数Ｕ（ｔ）的一般定义与本质的基础上，指出了一般定义的局限性，并导出了单位冲激函数δ（ｔ）的一种新定义，进一步论述了与此相关的单位阶跃函Ｕ（ｔ）的一种定义的重要意义．从而为两个函数的进一步研究与应用奠定了基础．

Having analysed the general definitions of unit impuse function δ(t) and unit step function U(t) and their limitations,the author gives a new definition for function δ(t) ,and points out the great importence of the new definition of function U(t) relating to function δ(t).This is a new exploration in study and application of two functions of δ(t) and U(t).
