Getting a New Lease of Life: Remodeling Design for the "Numbered Yard" of Shangdong University

通过分析原有建筑现状及问题,山东大学“号院”改造设计提出设计的三项原则:“整旧如旧”的原则、“予旧寓新”的原则、“规整统一”的原则,并通过总体布局、平面功能、立面形态、结构、施工等五个方面具体的改造措施保障这些原则得到较好的贯彻,从而使老建筑得到再生。

From analysis of the situation and the problems of the original building, the paper brings forward three principles, which are ＂making the old repaired as good as the original＂, ＂assimilating the new into the old＂ and ＂Integrality with uniformity＂ for Shandong University ＂Numbered Yard＂ remodeling design. The three principles are better implemented by the five measures of general layout, functional arrangement of plane, image of elevation, structure and construction, thus giving the old building a new lease of life.
