In May 2007, the Shanghai Gold Exchange （SGE） traded 89,931.2 kilograms of gold, down 27.28% year-on-year; the trading value stood at 14.793 billion yuan, declining year-on- year by 29.17%. Platinum traded in May was 2,950 kilograms, down 20.02% year-on-year; the trading value was 978 million yuan, down 20.37% year-on-year. Silver traded in the SGE totaled 23.88 tons, valued at 259 million yuan.
