The rheumatoid arthritis belonged to arthralgia syndrome or Lijie（severe and migratory arthralgia） in TCM. ZHANG Zhong-jing, the famous doctor in Han dynasty, dealt with this kind of disease in detail in his Treatise on Exogenous Febrile Disease and Miscellaneous Disease. Some effective formulas prescribed by ZHANG Zhong-jing had especial guiding significance till now to the clinic work. This article tidied up these formulas in order to explore the prescribed thought of ZHANG Zhong-jing and inspire the medical workers now in their clinical medication.
