Root canal therapy of residual root in the aged

目的:总结高龄老年人可保留进行固定修复的残根的根管治疗。方法:对102例134颗残根进行根管治疗或根管欠填需要重新进行根管治疗,根据残根根面所处的位置将残存的牙根分为龈上和龈下2种,采取切除牙龈、确定根管工作长度、根管预备、根管充填等方法完成根管治疗。结果:134颗牙齿的残根根管治疗除2例根尖部完全钙化无法扩通外,其余残根均扩通至根管的狭窄处,并予以严密的根管充填。结论:高龄老年人的残根进行完善的根管治疗后,再进行固定修复是可行的。

Objective： To summarize cases of root canal therapy of residual root which can be restored by fixed restorations later. Methods： 134 residual roots in 102 cases received by root canal therapy. The roots were divided into supragingival and subgingival groups according to the height of the roots. The root canal therapy was completed with the procedure of gingivectomy, root length measurement, root canal preparation and root filling. Results： 132 residual roots were properly obturated with 2 exceptions because of calcified root canals. Conclusions： Residual root in aged can be restored with fixed restoration after sound root canal therapy.
