Fast selection from macro-block encoding modes based on all-zero blocks predetermination in H.264/AVC

摘要 多种宏块编码模式的采用是H.264/AVC的显著特点,却也带来了极大的计算量。根据H.264/AVC中整数DCT变换和量化的特点,提出了一个新的预先判定全零块的阈值,并进一步将全零块的预先判定用于多种宏块编码模式的快速选择中,减少了运动估计的搜索复杂度。利用这种方法,可以在保证图像质量和比特率基本不变的情况下,有效减少编码器的计算复杂性。 The usage of various macro-block encoding modes is remarkable characteristic of H.264/AVC, however, it is acquired by heavily computation. According to the characteristics of H.264/AVC integral DCT transform and quantization, a new threshold for predetermination of all-zero blocks is presented. Then it is fiLrther applied to the fast selection from various macro-block encoding modes, which reduce the search complexity of motion estimation. In short, this method will effectively reduce the computing complexity of video encoder while remaining bit-rate and video quality almost unchanged.
