The advantages and disadvantages of internal and external prestressed concrete structures are analyzed as well as differences of them.The application of external prestressed concrete at home and abroad is briefly introduced.Author points out that extraneous prestressed strengthening technique can improve the bearing capacity of old bridge with good treatment effect.
