On Russian Money Credit Policy and Its Impact

Along with the change of its macroeconomic conditions for the better, many positive changes also took place in Russian monetary credit area. Many indexes showed that in recent years, Russian monetary situation remained basically stable, creating a relaxed financial environment for sustained economic growth. The Russian monetary credit policy aimed mainly to control inflation while maintaining the stability of the Ruble exchange rate.The Russian money authorities time and again readjusted the legal reserve rate and the central bank rediscount rate in recent years and adopted measures to control inflation and Ruble appreciation with some effects. All in all, the Russian monetary credit policy helped stabilize and promote the macro-economy, but a higher impact on investment and other economic behaviors is to be expected.
