Automatic water quality monitoring system of Xitang river in Suzhou can realize real-time monitoring for water quality by setting up monitoring stations on the main stream and tributaries of Xitang river. In this article, setting up of monitoring stations, monitoring parameters selection, system structure and design, system operation situation are presented. Issues that should be paid attention to in construction and running of the system are concluded from the system improvement after operation.
